Lighting Journal #53 – Granite Tile, Part 2

This is a bit more simple than the last one, but I do think it’s pretty ingenious. He uses 2 lights behind the granite tile/object to create the rim lighting and a black background, to have that sleek look without seeing the edge of the granite tile. He does have a silver reflector located at the front left, which helps enhance the lighting on the can.

Like the previous photo, it is pretty simple looking, but I wonder if The Glass Menagerie was using granite on stage to get those reflections. Wait, it might have been simply a mirror though. But I do imagine this kind of lighting would be interesting to see used in a dance performance.
