Light Journal #3 – Eyes of an Involuntary Photophobiac: Monday’s Class

I think, when studying light, it’s important to study how light affects certain individuals, especially that of a photophobiac’s. Monday’s class was interesting to see how all sorts of light placement affects the mood and shadow on stage (outside of a book), as well as mimicking other types of light sources. However, it taught me that frequently changing the light placement and as drastically is really uncomfortable.

Having, not a washed out stage, but an even lighted stage played much more nicely with my eyes than anything. Having a dim stage with purposefully lighted areas would cause discomfort from having to readjust over and over. Although the mood and feeling can be inferred, details of shadows and everything else was lost to me.
