Light Journal #1 – Sunlight & Blinds

Despite the sun being blocked, its light still shines through and reveals every detail in this room, rendering any other man-made light source unnecessary. It’s also interesting how the intensity changes as clouds pass by, affecting the mood of the room, and even as the sun sets. The best part was observing how translucent the vinyl blinds looked, with a hint of orange/yellow tint to it. And when opening and closing the blinds, the striped pattern it makes on everything inside reminds me of the one scene in Amy Tan’s The Joy Luck Club movie, in which they casted a cool, striped light on the actor’s face to indicate a tiger.
