CE #5: Castle Tower

“model the castle tower shown in class using more tools available in Maya”
Tool Description
Extrude Various faces of the tower & the top-most part.
Cut Faces I tried cutting a few of the uneven edges with this.
Interactive Split Tool Used heavily to create the holes for the windows.
Insert Edge Loop Tool Used to create extra edges that didn’t exist before that didn’t require special cutting that was done by the interactive split tool.
Combine Top cube and bottom cube were originally 2 different polygons.
Merge I merged a few vertices to clean up a few details.
Duplicate Face I duplicated the face and enlarged it to get the thickness for the tower.
Originally, after I deleted the faces out for the windows, the “walls” were kind of thin.

I didn’t have a lot of time to make this all that pretty, but I did what I could do with the time I had. I relied heavily on extrude and the interactive split tool to get the job done. Also, due to the time constraint, I didn’t want to use Boolean because I didn’t want to have to clean up after it. I would like to try it in the future though, given the chance. Lastly, I could have probably used Bevel to smooth things out a bit. instead of extruding at an offset.
